Hello Heike
On one hand I agree your point of view
....on the other one I'm glad when such all-time-classic movies will remain preserved for the future
and next generations of movie-lovers to enjoy - like we do |

Agreed. A good restoration (with improved technology) allows us to see films as close to their original forms as possible. I don't think many classic films we see these days in movie theaters look the same as they were. Besides, I remember the story behind of making AoT Redux. Let's hope for the best . |

Hello Heike and Yitian
Do you (or anyone else) know, if the restored "Lumiere-version" of "ITMFL" somehow differs from the original ?
(I refer to "AoT R" in comparison to the original version of "AoT") |

I think this is unchanged.
In an interview with Sina (in Chinese), WKW said that he thought the restored version is a different film. He thought here and there were different, some colors were unrecognizable. However, he was guaranteed what he saw was exactly the same as it was in 2000 .
Below is what was printed in Chinese... Time to learn Chinese again

By using this website:

one instantly gets the following, and 100% accurate .

Yitian, we are slightly off topic. Haha
Yitian, one did use this page not long ago to translate the last important info for a run I did in HK (they only handed out info in chinese) but the result was terrible. The most important part didn't make sense at all. I know I can't 'live' without that page on one hand, on the other I hate it for it being incorrect. _________________ Water which is too pure has no fish. |

100% only applies to translating from "crippled" Chinese to "overly complicated" Chinese. One can almost forget almost every other language translated from any forms of Chinese .
Hope you managed OK last time in HK using this not so good tool . |
