http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/new-wong-kar-wai-short-film-dejavu-to-premiere-at-cannes-20120511
Looks like Wong Kar-Wai has something up his sleeve for everyone who has been patiently awaiting his next feature film "The Grandmasters." While it won't be making the Cannes Film Festival like many had hoped, with more shooting happening this month and a December release date in China lined up, it looks like we'll have a brief treat to hold us over until then.
Chivas Regal has announced that they will unveil "Dejavu," a new short film by the director starring Wong Kar-Wai regular Chang Chen ("Happy Together," "Eros," "2046," "The Grandmasters") and model/actress Du Juan. What's it about? Who knows, but the whiskey sponsored short is said to be a legendary love story, shot in Umaid Bhawan Palace of India. So yeah, this thing will probably look fucking opulent. As usual.
This isn't the first time the director has dipped his toes in the advertising world of sorts, having recently helmed a spot for Shu Uemura cosmetics, but few of those efforts are getting the splashy kind of unveiling this will be receiving. For those of you in town, "Dejavu" will screen in Chivas House on the Croisette on Friday 18th at 3pm. But we presume it will be online not too long after. And at this point, we'll take whatever Wong Kar-Wai we can get. _________________ "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx |

Dear Safran...
We were twins, now we're triplets! HaHa!

)))) Yes I work more hours to get it finished in time, and I even work at home quite often in the evening and the weekends...
Would love to see some work of Wong Kar Wai right now...preferably with Tony in it.....
Hope to get involve in some real conversation here real soon...

From today's Twitchfilm.com
Meanwhile, the Cannes Film Festival begins tomorrow! And while there's plenty in the line up to make cinephiles drool, one notable omission was Wong Kar-Wai's probably-still-not-completed rendition of the legend of Ip Man, The Grandmasters. But it turns out Kar-Wai will still be showing a movie at Cannes! However, that movie is a whiskey commercial.
Chivas Regal commissioned a promotional from Kar-Wai film which will be unveiled Friday May 18 at the festival. Shot at Umaid Bhawan Palance, the film is titled Deja Vu and chronicles a romance between supermodel Du Juan and Chang Chen. We'll keep you updated as to when this one lands online. _________________ "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx |
