The New Hong Kong Cinema Series -
Hong Kong University Press
"Wong Kar-Wai´s HAPPY TOGETHER" by Jeremy Tambling
.....interesting new approaches and different possible interpretations.......(in some points "over-interpretated" - in my opinion ) |

Sounds like a very interesting read. Thanks Helga.
HT is another all-time fav of mine. I just love the ambiance of that film. It is one of those films that couldn't have been set elsewhere in the world...just like 'A Streetcar Named desire". |

Hello Joe !
Thank you for your interest
It is my heart only, that is touched and moved by WKW-films - after the first sight (like no other) -
But the more I read about "how to read" WKW´s movies - ....the more I am fascinated about his most comprehensive knowledges of different fields and his overview ....aspects you only get on the second, third.......viewing - if ever ! (and in connection with his former and later films).....nexuses run like a golden thread through all his films.
And the more important to work with actors/a team who know and trust each other - I guess.
At the moment I am reading "Ashes of Time" by Wimal Dissanayake (from same series) who analyses/interprets a bit "easier" in my opinion - very informative and enlightning - exciting
