don't know why those media could seperately add their own logo onto the photo, treated it as their property....

here's one without any logo, enjoy!!!

Carina is gorgeous as usual. I think Tony is just fine without the smile...kinda macho (like most men are in their wedding photo, hehehe).

Leung-Lau wedding photo unveiled(CRI)

Updated: 2008-07-21 10:30

Tony Leung and Carina Lau released one of their wedding photos to quench fans' curiosity on Sunday, one day before the Hong Kong couple's much-discussed wedding in Bhutan.

The photo shows the star couple wearing red gowns standing in front of a lush backdrop. Leung and Lau began shooting their wedding photos shortly after their arrival in Bhutan last week, the Hong Kong-based Wen Wei Po reported. Places featured in their wedding album include Bhutan's royal palace.

A lavish wedding is scheduled Monday at the luxurious Uma Paro hotel. Because Lau said she wanted a peaceful wedding, the hotel is being heavily guarded to keep the paparazzi at bay.

Leung's management company said that on Friday, hotel security removed at least eight journalists who had entered the premises of the Uma Paro, the International Herald Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, most of the 80 or so guests have arrived in Bhutan. Celebrity guests include filmmaker Stanley Kwan, actress Brigitte Lin, and former pop diva Faye Wong and her actor husband, Li Yapeng. Award-winning film director Wong Kar-Wai is in charge of planning the wedding.

Tony Leung, 46, and Carina Lau, 42, have been together for 19 years.

HK Artists Carina Lau and Tony Leung Marry in Bhutan

By Candy Chui

Posted 22 July 2008 @ 02:00 am HKT

Carina Lau and Tony Leung married in Bhutan, the couple is welcomed by the royal house of providing the royal dormitory for taking photos of wedding. Many Hong Kong Media went there to cover their century marriage but were rejected by the Bhutan Government.

The wedding ceremony will be held in Uma Paro Hotel today. Until now, the only wedding photo released is featured by the Bhutan wedding clothes. It is reported that the reddish wedding gown is prepared by the 2-years-old daughter of the princess and Tong Leung is wearing that of the prince. Both of them were glowing with the blessings from the Bhutan imperial family.

Even it is now rainy season in Bhutan, located 3,000 feet above sea level, Bhutan is surrounded by mountains, with the simple-style of people, pollution free environment and rich religious environment, the wedding is special without vulgarity.

About confirming Bhutan as the wedding location, Carina expressed that they have decided to marry on 21 July, and in April this year they confirmed Bhutan, which she got to know this country 10 years ago with little understanding, as it is independent and not confused nor polluted by outside, so that she can experienced equality of lives, harmonious relationship between man and environment. Therefore, they confirmed Bhutan, as also called "Shangrila", be the starting point of their next part of life.

"When I just come here, I can really understand why Bhutan is the "Joyful Kingdom" as peoples here are not satisfied by materials but in spiritual level," shared by Carina.

To bless the new couple, many friends from everywhere arrived Bhutan gradually and for the arrival of Faye Wong and Yapeng Li, together with daughter Tongtong, it was confused that they should even left the daughter and enter the gate first. Kenny Bee and Fanjiang with daughter also fly to Bhutan for the wedding.

The Electric New Paper

Tony Leung and Carina Lau to tie the knot at Bhutan hotel resort

VENUE GUARDED LIKE A FORTRESS

21 July 2008

THESE days, the tranquil Uma Paro hotel in Bhutan is seeing a different side.

To host the wedding of Hong Kong stars Tony Leung, 46, and Carina Lau, 42, tomorrow, there is heavy security at the hilltop resort.

To get there, you have to pass a sentry point halfway up the tree-covered hill.

Three guards manning the post repeat a management directive that the five-star hotel is out of bounds except for invited guests.

In other words, the 29-room hotel is not available for booking during this period.

The Apple Daily Hong Kong team had a first-hand taste of the tight security on Friday.

As they had not been invited, they had no choice but to make a U-turn.

As they made their way down the hill, they passed Tony and Carina's car, which was heading back to the hotel.

HIGH SPIRITS

Carina, who was described as being all dolled-up and in high spirits, was seen in a bright yellow top resembling a traditional Bhutanese costume.

When Tony caught a glance of the Apple Daily team, he was said to be shocked.

Reports have suggested that the couple had chosen Bhutan as their wedding venue on the suggestion of the Karmapa Lama of India.

But another plausible reason was for the couple to avoid the media.

It's not easy getting into the Himalayan kingdom.

There are no direct flights from Hong Kong to the only airport in Bhutan, which only receives flights from Bangkok, Calcutta, Delhi, Dhaka and Kathmandu.

The 80 guests that were invited will mostly be flying in via Bangkok.

At 4.40am on Friday morning, celebrities including Lin Ching Hsia, Ti Lung and Cecilia Yip were seen waiting at the Bangkok airport for the flight to Bhutan.

WEDDING WISH

Ching Hsia told reporters that she has a wedding wish for Carina: Have a baby as soon as possible.

She told Apple Daily: 'These words might be cliched, but they are from the bottom of my heart.'

Ching Hsia herself bore her first child, a girl, at the age of 41. Her second child, also a girl, was born when she was 46.

Her sentiments were echoed by Tong Leung's mum, who was also present.

The couple, who have been together for 19 years, was said to have been unable to get visas for some of their guests at first.

Then, the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, intervened.

Oxford-educated King Jigme, 28, is the world's youngest head of state.

He received the couple after they arrived on Thursday and arranged for them to tour the kingdom.

Singaporean makeup artist Zing, a famous name in Hong Kong entertainment circles, is said to be part of the entourage.

Actors' wedding leads to Hong Kong media frenzy

By Alexandra A. Seno

Sunday, July 20, 2008

HONG KONG: The bride said she hoped for a quiet wedding, but the Chinese entertainment news media had other ideas for an A-list Hong Kong actress, Carina Lau Kar-ling.

Her wedding, to be held on Monday in Bhutan to Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Chinese cinema's biggest dramatic star and winner of the 2000 Cannes award for best actor, has generated a frenzy among a news industry that spares little expense and goes to great lengths to chase big celebrity stories.

Since the Chinese entertainment news media discovered the wedding locale, the industry has deployed, in typical fashion, considerable human and financial resources to cover the marriage.

Dozens of reporters and photographers, and hundreds of thousands of dollars have relentlessly pursued the wedding party and their guests through three cities, including Paro, in the remote hills where the Buddhist ceremony will be held.

The booming Chinese entertainment news sector has proven not only profitable but also more competitive than ever. The five top-selling magazines in Hong Kong focus on pop culture and, like the rest of the industry, sell 95 percent of their copies on newsstands. Snapshots of Lau, 43, and Leung, 46, as well as facts and fiction about their coming marriage have dominated front pages in the last week.

In keeping with Lau's desire for a private moment, news outlets have not been invited to the wedding, even as throngs of reporters continue to stake out the couple and their friends.

Paro remains relatively peaceful despite the news media onslaught and the lengths the reporters have gone to get their story. By last Wednesday, they had discovered the wedding party's travel details. Leung's management company said it believes that at least six journalists were on the flight from Hong Kong to Bhutan, via Bangkok. Airline employees prevented one photographer from taking a picture of the couple. At least 20 journalists trailed the group in Bangkok, where they had dinner before flying to Bhutan.

At the end of last week, several Hong Kong journalists were in Paro and many have spent a lot of time mainly lurking on roadsides hoping to snap images. Leung's management company said that on Friday hotel security had removed at least eight Hong Kong journalists who entered the premises of the Uma Paro, a hilltop resort where some members of the bridal party are staying and where the main wedding events will be held.

"Chinese entertainment media are very, very aggressive and are willing to dole out money to get the job done," said Yuen-ying Chan, director of the University of Hong Kong Journalism and Media Studies Center. While she does not encourage her graduates to build careers in the genre, she acknowledges that the publications are "hugely successful."

Facts are often not the main elements for these stories, as the Lau-Leung wedding is proving.

"If they don't have the facts, they use their imagination," Chan said. "It is entertainment and readers are nosy by nature."

Unlike their counterparts in Europe and the United States, most Chinese paparazzi work as employees for publications and are not motivated by the potential earnings from a single photograph.

Hong Kong pop culture-oriented publications do "dramatically well" with advertisers, which is why the segment is growing, said Vivek Couto, head of research at Media Partners Asia, a boutique consulting company.

Mark Simon, group advertising director for NextMedia, owner of three of the five top-selling magazines in Hong Kong, said: "Hong Kong doesn't really have much real hard news, so entertainment is very important. The field is very crowded so we have to do what we can."

Royal treatment for bridal couple

PARO, (Bhutan) ? LONG-time celebrity couple Carina Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai were finally married in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan yesterday morning, said reports.

It took them 20 years to get to the altar.

And on the day they tied the knot on the grounds of the Uma Paro resort, they weathered another storm, literally, as pouring rain threatened to dampen the festivities.

The 42-year-old actress and 46-year-old actor were married in a Buddhist ceremony, said Sina news website.

About 20 lamas were seen leaving the hotel after the wedding, it added.

Ming Pao Daily News said about 80 guests, including singer Faye Wong, former actress Lin Ching-hsia and singer Kenny Bee, attended the ceremony.

Celebrities such as actors Chang Chen, Hu Jun, Ti Lung, actresses Cecilia Yip, Deborah Li, and directors Wong Kar Wai and Stanley Kwan were also present.
